Spring bulbs and Sweet Peas

We have still got a small selection of potted bulbs – tulips and grape hyacinths. A splash of colour to brighten up your garden and containers.

Raspberry canes – Polka, which look like twigs at the moment, will bear fruit in July to October and rhubarb crowns – Victoria and Timperley Early are ready for planting out now.

Fruit bushes including  Gooseberry Invicta and Captivator, Tayberry can be planted now. Redcurrants and Blackcurrants will be ready in May.

Fruit trees – Apple ‘Sunset’, ‘Charles Ross’, ‘Lord Lambourne’, Plum ‘Victoria’ and Damson ‘Merryweather’. More varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherries, damsons will be ready for sale in May . Most are self- fertile and on semi dwarf rootstock.

Evergreen, spring and summer flowering alpines are covered in flower buds.

Onion sets – ‘Sturon’ and ‘Red Baron’, Broad Beans – ‘Witkiem Manita’ and ‘The Sutton’

The first batch of our popular sweet peas have been hardened off and ready for planting out now.

The bedding and vegetable seedlings are thriving at the nursery.
The first lot of tomotoes are out for sale. This year we have 8 varieties of tomatoes! 3 varieties of trailing tomatoes – great for containers and hanging baskets, 2 varieties of cherry tomotoes – Gardeners Delight and Sun Gold, plum tomato – San Marzano, Totem – dwarf variety and Ailsa Craig.
The first lot of courgettes are also out for sale – we have a green bush variety and yellow variety.

Some brassicas and vegetable seedlings are out for sale now and ready for planting out: Cauliflower ‘Snowball’, Calabrese ‘Marathon’, Brussels Sprout ‘Bedford Darkmar 21’, Red Cabbage ‘Red Drumhead’, Peas ‘Hurst Greenshaft’ and Broad Beans ‘ The Sutton’ and ‘Witkiem Manita’, Perpetual spinach, beetroot….
