Gearing Up

The nursery has opened its gates to you all. A sure sign that spring is round the corner.

The daffodils and primroses are flowering away welcoming us in.

Herbaceous perennials are peeking above the ground and the buds are swelling on the fruit trees, shrubs and climbers.

We have been busy at the nursery in January and February despite the wind and rain.

Sowing vegetable and bedding seeds and taking cuttings of tender perennials in the propagation tunnel.

Now the first lot of tomatoes, peppers, brassicas, onions…. are looking happy in the warm(er) propagation tunnel, as are the sweet peas, lobelias, pot marigolds, marguerites, gazanias….. and it’s filling up fast.

Dividing and potting up herbaceous perennials, shrubs and herbs in the potting tunnel.

Pruning the roses and tidying up the perennials and shrubs outside.
