Jobs for you to do in your garden/allotment now
The bare root raspberry canes need to be put in the ground now. We have ‘Glen Doll’, the summer fruiting variety and ‘Polka’, the late summer and autumn fruiting variety.
Organic seed potatoes are in. ‘Charlotte’ the new potato variety should be chitted now ready for planting in April.
Broad beans ‘Dwarf Sutton’ will be out for sale this weekend. They can be grown under clothes or potted up for the ground later.
Blueberries are warming up after their start in Scotland.
We have been very busy at the nursery preparing for the glorious spring ahead.
All the plants have been slow getting started this year, but the moment it warms up they will romp away.
All the bare root fruit trees and bushes have been potted up. I’ll put the list on the website as soon as they have settled in. They should be ready for sale around the middle of April.
The bare root roses that have been potted up just look like green twigs at the moment but will fill your garden with their fragrance in the summer. We’ve got David Austin Roses, Hybrid Teas, Floribundas, Shrub, Minature, Climbers and Ramblers. I will put information about them on the website when they are ready for sale.
